In honor of last Sundays poppy fields trip. This marvelous little mini hill caught me completely by surprise as I was driving aimlessly home from the studio one day April 2008.

In May of 2009, I decided to do something with my life. Thats right, I put all my Unurban drawings together into my first solo zine thingy. Put my Otis education to use quite good. I hand numbered a limited edition print run of 35 and brought them up to Unurban Cafe, setting them out to be taken for free. They seemed to go over pretty well.

Zine 2.0 might be on its way soon...

Its poppy blooming season in Antelope Valley! Do yourself a huge favor, and take the short 90 minute drive north east to see some something spectacular. But go soon, the flowers are only in bloom for a few short weeks! BAM!

OH and PS, my main theme with todays photos is "pictures of people taking poppy pictures". tee hee hee

Always liked the lighting overall, the hot sunlight bouncing up off the white paint, the back lit atmospherics, and the blips of man made red struggling to shine...

Two years ago four days from now, this bitch almost ran me and some friends over backing up out of a parking spot at the Co-Op Santa Monica. When she realized it, she honked at us and started me down. So I stopped, and slowly took her photo through her side mirror. The end.

Hit the fullsize to see her gnarly ghost face.

Sometimes you gotta drive back to STL through the desert to escort your buds back home. Sometimes you gotta roll through Vegas, stop at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, and continue on through Zion. All firsts for me, all amazing.

Circa August 2008.

A while back I was posting a daily breakdown of my 2007 winter STL vacation, but that fell off. Heres some highlights from the rest of that trip, including such goodies as a Humanoids show, the first (or second read) of Bryan & Jeffs "Teen Comedy", and new years 2k7-2k8!!!!
Enjoy!
